One of the things we love doing most is visiting schools, and there are few schools in such a stunning location, deep within the Shropshire countryside, as Concord College.

Our link with Concord College is based on a long-standing friendship between the Director of Music, Stavros, and our Managing Director – Jonathan Savage. They worked together many years ago in Manchester when Stavros was at his previous school. They have a shared passion for music technology and thinking creatively about how it can be used within the processes of teaching and learning in music.

Stavros is now in charge of a superb music department that offers a range of opportunities for its students. UCan Play was invited to help organise an afternoon of technology related activities. On this occasion, we worked with two of our partners – Roland UK and Steinberg – to present a range of new performance and composition instruments to the students including the Roland System 8 synth, the TB03 bass line synth, the RC505 loop station and the TR8S drum machine, as well as the most recent upgrade of Steinberg’s Cubase (v9.5). With the help of expert demonstrations from Andrew Sappleton and Richard Llewellyn (Steinberg), Andrew Pimblott (Roland UK) and Josh Savage (UCan Play), students enjoyed playing with the various instruments and software:

If you would like us to visit your school to arrange a programme of exciting music technology activities then please feel free to contact us to discuss the details. All the brands we work closely with are keen to support music education in schools. There is no charge for our visits and we hope that our presence will help inspire your students as they work creatively with the technologies that we can offer.
