Purchasing

UCan Play is part of a UCan.tv, a not-for-profit company registered in England (company number 5386559).

We sell new musical instruments, audio and video technologies from a huge range of brands and manufacturers. All our products are available with an educational discount to staff or students studying or working at schools, colleges or universities across the United Kingdom.

Non-obligatory quotations can be provided for all products. The vast majority of our products are ordered by customers following an individual quotation prepared by our staff within an hour or so of any request being made.

Registered users of this site can access preferential educational prices for certain products online. Immediate payment for these products can be done by making an online payment through PayPal.

Payment for all other items (i.e. those not listed online) is on receipt of goods. There is no requirement to pay until the item has been delivered and you have checked it over and are happy that it is brand new and as described.

Schools and other institutions can be invoiced directly for goods ordered. All we require at the point of ordering is an official purchase order including a purchase order number and delivery address. Following delivery of goods, we would request that payment of official orders are made within 14 days by bank transfer or cheque.

Shipping & Handling

There is free delivery on all items. Orders within the UK will be shipped within 5 – 7 working days. International orders are welcome but we will quote for postage and packaging on an individual order basis. Please contact us for further information.

Back orders

If your item is not in stock, we will back order the item for you with the manufacturer. We will always inform you of the next availability. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would prefer not to wait.

VAT Charges

The current applicable rate of 20% VAT is charged on the price of all new goods.

Our VAT number is GB 124 2345 49.

Availability

All goods offered are subject to availability and UCan Play reserves the right to withdraw any item without notice. If you order an item that is out of stock we will inform you as soon as possible and advise you about alternative items. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Our Guarantee

We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come direct from the manufacturer with full manufacturer warranties. Roland products have a three year warranty. Many Rode products have a ten year warranty. Most other manufacturers offer a one year warranty.

Privacy Policy

UCan Play does not disclose buyer’s information to any third parties. All data is up to date and stored according to Data Protection Act 1998. You can request to see and check your information we have at anytime by emailing us. If any details are incorrect we will delete them or amend them. All information is kept within the EEA (European Economic Area). 

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. Only the data provided by you during the ordering process is collated (name, address, telephone number, email). This information is solely used for the process and dispatch of your purchased goods. 

‘Cookies’ are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item. The cookies are stored on your computer as a text file. You can alter your browser settings to refuse or limit the cookies you accept. If you wish not to accept cookies you should use our email or phone ordering. No sensitive information is stored as a cookie. 

Occasionally we may email you to let you know about special offers and new items. We give you the chance to refuse future emails. If you do not wish to receive any marketing emails from us please let us know by emailing us.

Returns Policy

You have the right to cancel your order up to 7-days after you receive the goods providing that they have not been opened or used. This period starts the following day after receiving the goods. We will ask you to return the goods in their original condition securely wrapped. You must also pay the postage for returning the goods. You will be refunded the cost of the goods in the same method as the original payment was made. If the goods are not returned after cancellation, they will be collected at your expense. Refunds will be made within 30 days of cancellation. This does not affect your statutory rights.
 
All goods are checked by the manufacturer prior to delivery. If you find goods to be faulty, we would ask you to first contact us for advice and then return the goods for inspection at the address supplied. When returning goods please include a note with your name and address along with the reason for return and any requests or comments. Wrap the parcel securely. Please mark the packages as ‘Returns from UCan Play’.

We cannot accept responsibility for goods lost in transit to the manufacturer. 

If a refund is made, it will be done by the same method you used to pay the original transaction. Any faulty goods will need to be inspected by the manufacturer before we take any action. If you have any queries or questions please email or phone us.
