We are delighted to be live streaming all four of the Northern Chamber Orchestra’s concerts during their 2021 spring season. The first of these took place on Saturday 27th February at the Carole Nash Hall with the Stoller Hall complex at Cheetham’s Schools of Music, Manchester. It featured Lara Melda performing Mozart’s Piano Concerto No.27 in B flat, preceded by Rossini’s String Sonata No.3 in C major and closing with Bartok’s Romanian Folk Dances.
This live stream was the first time that we got to use our four new cameras – the BlackMagic 4K Pocket Cinema Cameras. We have invested heavily in our live streaming equipment recently and these cameras really are a superb addition to our kit. They represent a significant step up from our previous cameras and will allow us to broadcast in 4K if required moving forwards. We are using these cameras in conjunction with Roland’s VR-4HD, but we have also purchased one of BlackMagic’s ATEM Pro switchers which we will be testing in the coming months.
Our live streaming work has really taken off this year. We have work booked in at Abbey Road Studios in June, several live streams in Sussex over the summer, and then the Hastings International Piano Concerto competition in February 2022. This will see us live streaming all ten days of the competition as well as providing all the rehearsal pianos for the competitors curtesy of our partner, Roland UK.
Here are few pictures of the event on Saturday with Lara and the NCO. If you need an event live streamed, please get in touch and we’d be delighted to help.
