During January 2014 we’ve been busy working with three schools who each needed a new set of recording equipment. Following extensive discussion and a careful consideration of various options, each school has chosen elements from the PreSonus range. Why?

Firstly, there is a free point of access. The fantastically equipped StudioOne Free is available for download, free of charge, by any teacher or student. It contains pretty much everything you need for digital recording, processing, mixing and much more. In our view, it certainly covers all the bases for Key Stages 2 – 4.

Secondly, the AudioBox USB is a great product that integrates seamlessly with the StudioOne Free software. There’s no more mucking around trying to configure sound cards in inaccessible PCs. The basic AudioBox USB is perfect for a standalone PC or affordable enough to put with each PC in a computer suite.

Thirdly, there are a range of super interim and portable recording solutions ‘in one’ with the AudioBox Studio (with M7 condenser mic) and AudioBox Stereo (with twin SD7 mics) products (including the AudioBox interface, headphones, cable, microphone and software). Brilliantly designed, superb software/hardware integration and well priced.

Fourthly, if your school does decide it needs a complete recording package, there is the fantastic new digital StudioLive desks to consider, with Eris monitors and the brilliant range of Rode microphones that are creating such a storm in the press at the moment. We’ve supplied StudioLive desks, Eris monitors and a selection of Rode microphones to two schools in the last couple of weeks. Both departments are delighted with their purchases.

Finally, we can offer training on all PreSonus equipment at very preferential rates.

For all these reasons, UCan Play highly recommends the PreSonus range of recording equipment. Whatever your budget as a school, we can provide a high quality, integrated hardware and software solution.
