During the Easter holidays we were delighted to spend a day at the Phoenix Academy in West London. Last year, the school received £20k of funding from Restore the Music UK. Due to the lockdown, the setting up of the instruments had been delayed. The school purchased a range of equipment including new pianos, an acoustic drumkit, and six ‘silent rehearsal’ kits comprising of the Roland HS-5, TD-1DMK V-Drums, Go Keys, electric and bass guitars, and vocal microphones. Additional items included stools, stands, a PreSonus AR12C mixer and two Air 12 PA speakers (so that all the work of individual bands could be shared in the classroom) and all the associated cabling.

The pictures below show some of the setting up work in progress.

And just in case you were wondering, this is what around £20k of cardboard and assorted packaging looked like before it was sorted for recyling.
