It was great to hear this feature on the Roland TR-808 on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme at around 8.20am this morning. As regular readers of this blog will remember, the TR-808’s history in dance music throughout the 1980s and 1990s is unrivalled. We discussed it at length here. One of the most exciting things is that the new TR-8 has revisited this classic drum machine (as well as the TR-909) and interpreted it in a new way for the 21st century. We’ve just ordered all of the new AIRA products and will be doing some research and music making with them in the months to come. Watch this space!
