UCan Play were delighed to live stream Norfolk Music Hub’s Virtual Big Sing from Studio 1 in Abbey Road Studios in west London on July 1st 2021. After months of planning, Chris and Josh travelled down to London on Tuesday evening for a full day of rehearsals the following day. Hundreds of thousands of primary school children across the country enjoyed performances by a stellar list of artists including Kirsten Joy, Gabrielle, Aston Merrygold, Red, Nathan Evans, Marisha Wallace, Professor Green, Becky Hill and MNEK. Do check out the #VBS2021 tag on Twitter to see some of their amazing reactions. Congratulations to all the teachers who organized their classes and timetables to facilitate their students being able to enjoy this event.
As a company, we have invested heavily in our live streaming capability in recent months, including Blackmagic 4k cinema cameras and associated lenses, gimbals, etc. It is great to see organisations like the Northern Chamber Orchestra, Brighouse & Rastrick Brass Band, NYMAZ, Sandbach Concert Series, music education hubs and school-based ensembles such as the Sandbach School Big Band, looking to the potential of live streaming to share their music in these unusual times. If you have an event that you’d like to live stream please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We are here to help. For now, enjoy some of the images taken from the live stream. Thanks again to all parties involved in making this happen, particularly Norfolk Music Hub, NYMAZ and, of course, our host Mark De-Lisser.
